The federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) in Borno state had yesterday donated food relief to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) that ARE being camped in Maiduguri, the state capital.
The bank said its gesture was spurred by the demands of corporate social responsibility to assist the displaced people of Borno state.
Presenting the items that comprised assorted foods like bags of rice, bags of maize, jars of vegetable oil, cartons of noodles among others, the zonal coordinator of FMBN, Malam B. +Sabo said his organization appreciated the leadership style of Governor Kashim Shettima whom he said has been able to stand firm despite the daunting challenges of the ongoing insurgency.
Sabo added that the relief items donated by FMBN was not the bank's first reach out to the people of Borno state during the ongoing crisis.
"It is imperative to also mention that the management of Federal Mortgage bank of Nigeria has donated the sum of N150, 000 to the Entrepreneurship Development Center to assist in the training of 30 vulnerable youths and women in the state", said Sabo.
Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima had appreciated the bank's generosity even as implored other corporate organizations within and outside the state to emulate FMBN.
