Shehu of Borno, His Royal Highness, Abubakar Garbai Alamin Elkanemi had yesterday confirmed the panic over twin starlike objects hovering over the city of Maiduguri, even as he said he had assured his subjects not to panic that the lights they saw were nothing but some security contraptions from possibly the Nigerian army.
He said some concerned persons had that Monday night rushed to his palace with advises that he should order emergency prayers to avert possible calamity.
"We have calmed them down that there is nothing to prayer about in what they sighted, because they were merely some security devises of the military and they meant no harm", he said.
He said subjects should intensify in their prayers for a quick end to the ongoing Boko Haram insurgency.
Earlier, this blog had reported that Maiduguri the Borno state capital was yesterday dazzled by the appearance of two mysterious light that nearly qualified description of shooting stars.

Many residents who spotted the pair of light said the fast moving object rose from the ground and moved over Maiduguri with even as they pierced the darkness with their beam.
A witness who claimed to have had a good sight of the pair of light said they both had some smoky substance trailing their tail.
"We thought they were satellite but some experts said satellites don't come too low; others suspected that they may be some high level security devices since they were seen sprouting from the direction of the military barracks", said Muhammed Ali, a Maiduguri resident.
