Tight security in Maiduguri as Jonathan visits for campaign

Security was deployed to its fullest in Maiduguri, Borno state capital as President Jonathan visits for his reelection campaign. 

The president as at the time of filing this report is still being awaited to arrive the venue.

Movement in some parts of Maiduguri especially the routes leading to Ramat Square, the venue of the Presidential rally were resticted as vehicles were being asked to divert to alternative routes.

At the venue which is gradually filling up with party supporters of different shades and colors, soldiers and police officials were seen moving with all kinds of security gadgets, while somw move around the crowd with sniffer dogs.

Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima, had Friday isseued a statement asking his supporters not to attack the president as it was the case in Bauchi and Katsina states.
