Again, military bans for 48 hours in Maiduguri

Military authority in Borno state has today (Wednesday, 31st December ) announced yet another 24 hours total ban on vehicular activities during the new year celebration,  official statement said. 

The ban,  according to statement signed by Deputy director military information and spokesman of the 7 Division Nigeria Army,  Maiduguri Colonel Sani Usman,  would take effect from 6am on Thursday January 1st 2015 to 6pm of the second day of the year. 

The statement attributes security concerns as reasons for the ban on vehicles. 

Maiduguri,  the Borno state capital has been on dusk to dawn curfew for about two years now.
