Soldiers of the 7 Division Nigeria Army have rescued 11 women that were abducted on thursday by suspected Boko Haram gunmen who had rounded them up while harvesting beans in the abandoned farms of their husbands, security sources said.
The security source who hinted this Blog on Saturday night said the soldiers operating near Damboa trailed the abductors to a village where the women and their children were being kept, and engaged the armed terrorists in a shoot that later forced them to flee leaving their hostages behind.
"All the women and their children were in good shape as at the time the soldiers returned them back to the outskirts villages of Maiduguri where they had been living since after Boko Haram sacked them from their homes", said the security source would not want to be named.
The surces added that the women were eleven in number and not 13 as earlier mentioned

Some 13 women, some nursing mothers, were reportedly kidnapped on Thursday by suspected Boko Haram members gunmen at a farming area near Dalwa village in Damboa local government area of Borno state.
The women, according to an official of the Nigeria Vigilante Group in Maiduguri, ran into trouble when they took the risk of going to their abandoned farms with the hope of harvesting some crops there.
About four of the women were said to be nursing mothers who carried their kids on their backs.
The women, according to sources, were led by the armed gunmen towards Damboa, a town still under the control of the insurgents.
Muhammed Abbas Gava, spokesman of the Nigeria vigilante Group in Borno state told this Blogger in his office that "the women, who had fled their homes when Boko Haram took over Damboa in July, had - out of hunger - wanted to go and make some harvest in their farms; the abductors took them away and up till now we are not sure of what happened to them. One of our members who was informed by one woman who managed to escape the abduction, said up till now they have not heard any word about the women.
The police in Borno state is still not aware of the incident when contacted for confirmation.
