Army Chief Breaks Fast Inside Soldiers' Trench in Konduga

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant Tukur Buratai, has on Monday, further boosted the morale of troops on the frontline in Borno state when he joined them and even observed his Ramadan Breakfast inside their trench.
Accompanied by the Theatre Commander of the Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Lucky Irabor and the acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Brigadier General Victor Izegwu, the army chief paid a surprise visit to the soldier's base in the evening and joined them in eating what they have prepared for their breakfast.

The soldiers of the 103 battalion in Konduga, according army sources that witnessed the dramatic visit were left confused as to where to host the Generals but the army chief suggested their jungle trench as okay for the breakfast.
Confirming the incident, spokesman of the Nigeria Army, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, released some of the pictures capturing the COAS in Konduga having his meal in a dimly lighted trench.
General Buratai had after the breakfast commended the fortitude of the gallant soldiers and urge them to keep up the good works even as he assured them that the battle will soon be over with the Boko Haram.
Since his appointment as army chief, almost a year ago, Lieutenant General Buratai has visited and participated in the battle against Boko Haram insurgency. He has also passed nights with soldiers in the most dangerous frontline operation bases.
